Barista Parlor is relocating its iconic Gulch operation to one of the city’s most-watched development projects, Nashville Business Journal has learned.
The coffeeshop, a local favorite founded by Andy Mumma, will shutter operations at its Golden Sound location at 610 Magazine St. and move to the recently renovated Voorhees Building early next year.
The new lease will span 2,200 of the ground floor’s total 10,000 square feet. The property is part of Paseo South Gulch, a mixed-use project by New York City-based SomeraRoad.
SomeraRoad founder Ian Ross, as well as the firm’s Nashville office head, Jonathon Reeser, confirmed the news on Wednesday. Mumma could not be immediately reached for comment.
In an interview with the Business Journal, Ross called Mumma a “remarkable entrepreneur.”
“Paseo South Gulch is all about authenticity, celebrating things that are true to Nashville and creating a live-work-play-stay neighborhood. Barista Parlor could not more perfectly fit that ethos. They are iconic and Nashville’s best third-wave coffee operator,” Ross said.
