A global health care IT company will plant a flag in the Kansas City metro's tech landscape with new regional offices it plans to open in the heart of Downtown.
Veeva Systems, a cloud-based software provider that serves the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, will occupy about 10,000 square feet in the Lightwell office building at 1100 Main St. Tenant finish permits valued at $849,200 were filed Friday for Veeva's 12th floor space, the city's development database shows.
Lightwell ranked fourth on the Kansas City Business Journal's most recent Largest Multitenant Office Buildings List, with 667,222 leasable square feet at 60% occupancy by 43 tenants as of October.
The office building is owned by SomeraRoad Inc., of New York, which finished a $21 million renovation of its lobby and common areas in 2021, and in December completed a $63 million refinancing to capitalize future tenant improvements and buildout costs. AREA Real Estate Advisors represents and manages the building.
"Lightwell’s mission of providing best-in-class office space has made it uniquely positioned to serve tenants seeking a flight to quality," Grant Hromas, vice president of development with SomeraRoad in Kansas City, said in January. "We are exclusively focused on providing the best tenant experience in Kansas City, exhibited by our phenomenal leasing momentum in 2022."
