SomeraRoad has expanded its presence in the Gulch with its latest buy.

The New York-based company paid $38 million for 1.9 acres at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Division Street, according to the Nashville Post. The parcel, located at 714 Eighth Ave. S., is the former home of Flyte restaurant and wine bar, which closed in June 2019.

SomeraRoad’s latest buy is adjacent to its $230 million Paseo South Gulch development site. The project features two towers — one 16 stories and one 20 stories — slated for a combined 620 residential units, 18,000 square feet of office space and 14,000 square feet of retail.

Current design plans weave those buildings into a walkable area surrounding two historic structures, the former Voorhees Building and the former Downtown Antiques Building, both of which SomeraRoad has been renovating into mixed-use office space.
