SomeraRoad has received approval from the Pittsburgh Planning Commission for what’s likely to be the largest new development at the SouthSide Works in years on one of its last and largest undeveloped parcels.

Designed by Lawrenceville-based Desmone Architects, the project is the SouthSide Works Riverfront Apartments, a 246-unit, seven-story apartment project totaling more than 350,000 square feet along the riverfront on a 1.8-acre site which planning materials indicate calls for a landmark building.

With the approval, SomeraRoad can phase in its next major building project amid a host of other ongoing projects right now.
