A New York-based development and investment firm is proposing two new towers on a historic Gulch site.
SomeraRoad Inc. filed a proposal to the Metro Planning Department for two high-rises, one 16 stories and one 20 stories, along Eighth Avenue South and the downtown train tracks. A mixed-use district connecting the historic Voorhees Building and Downtown Antiques Mall is in the works, according to an emailed statement from Jonathan Reeser, a director at the firm. A construction timeline and project cost were not disclosed.
The 20-story tower, which would neighbor the Voorhees Building, would require a 10-story height extension from Metro, according to filings.
